Position Responsibilities
The Oracle Cloud development is one of the biggest initiatives in the history of Oracle. We are introducing revolutionary SAAS, IAAS and PAAS products to the market place, and because many of these products are being built new, we are experiencing tremendous growth in our cloud storage product development team. Our systems move a huge amount of data and we need you to help build both the internal and external infrastructure to support it.
We are looking for a data scientist to help gather, analyze, and display large amounts of data stemming from various sources. The analysis of the data includes advanced statistical methods, predictive analytics, and machine learning. The visualization work includes using Data Visualization tools such as Oracle Business Intelligence and Oracle Data Visualization to present the data in a consumable format for mid-level management and executives. Desired Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have experience working with datasets from multiple sources. They should be comfortable doing a deep dive in the data to understand where it can provide value. In addition, they should work well in teams, and understand how to summarize the information and value that the data has via a visualization layer. The candidate will be expected to create simple and complex analyses on the datasets available, including basic predictive models. Specific experience the ideal candidate will demonstrate includes:
Experience with data analysis – EDA, simple stats, and visualization
Experience with advanced data analysis – advanced statistical methods, predictive analytics
Experience with data visualizations tools, such as Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Data Visualization, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI
Familiarity with ETL methodologies (Data acquisition from multiple sources, manipulation, aggregation, and uploads)
Familiarity with Databases and SQL
Experience with data science programming languages such as R and Python
Additional Skills Sought:
The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate the following additional requirements:
6+ years of experience working in data science projects
Knowledge of data structures, algorithms
Advanced SQL and Database experience
Advanced coding knowledge using Python
MS in Computer Science or Data Science
Knowledge of AWS, OCI and/or other IaaS environments.
Knowledge of agile-based iterative development

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
