Data Scientist at Robert Walters

My client is a fast-growing finance and technology company operating in Sub Saharan Afric They delivers personal lending products through online, mobile phone and branch channels. They are recruiting a new member of the data team to help execute the credit scoring roadmap. The ideal candidate must balance analytical diligence with a willingness to learn and innovate. A healthy spirit of adventure and sense of humour would be helpful.

Client limit management

•  Scorecard code maintenance, testing and reporting
•  Assist in development of scorecards and credit policy proposals
•  Analysis and recommendations based on test results

Analysis

•  Be able to effectively communicate (orally/written) findings on analytical approaches
•  Ability to translate business problems into analysis
•  Be meticulous about details as well as problem solving aptitude
• Proficient in data analysis tools (Google Big Query, SQL, Python,R)

General

•  Be able to confidently engage with internal clients
•  Strong numerical / coding abilities
•  Have a basic understanding of data warehouses and data structures

Requirements
Required

• Degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, or engineering

• Passion for Africa and willingness to work in the developing world context
