DC Dispatch Trainee Manager (Dayshift) at Dis-Chem Pharmacies

Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Midrand has an opportunity available for a DC Dispatch Trainee Manager to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to achieve operational excellence within the Dis-Chem Distribution Centre incorporating functions in the following areas; Order consolidation, Dispatch both Local and Line-haul, Returns, and in so doing ensure that both legal and customer requirements are met.

Minimum Requirements…

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Transport Management or Supply-Chain / Logistics Degree or Diploma
• 1-2 years relevant experience in a Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain environment

Advantageous:

• Experience in the Retail/Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Experience with SAP, EWM or other ERP systems.

Job Specification…

• Ensure optimal route and space planning to meet the day-to-day strategic objectives.
• Understand and execute the planning process involved when stock leaves the distribution centre.
• Ensure all orders that are picked and processed timeously and accurately and are delivered as per operational requirement.
• Ensure to arrange returns and collection of upliftment’s, which must be tracked throughout the return process.
• Ensure admin and daily checking of all delivery log sheets takes place, to facilitate queries and credit note request.
• Ensure all supervisors in department manage their staff efficiently.
• Ensure training of new staff in that they have the necessary tools and equipment required to perform their duties efficiently.
• Work with Management to manage employees that do not comply with Dis-Chem Policies and procedures
  according to the disciplinary code.
• Ensure effective and efficient resolution and communication of internal and external customer day-to-day queries.
• Ability to analyse and interpret any shrinkage indicators and work with Management to act accordingly.

Competencies

Essential:

• Knowledge of Distribution Centre, logistics and supply chain operations.
• Have knowledge of the business measures and targets, directly related to own role.
• Be able to communicate proactively in order to build co-operative relationships with internal customers.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Deadline driven.
