Provide strategic leadership and policy advice on the most effective environmental management approaches to mainstreaming Eco-DRR and ecological infrastructure interventions in four District Municipalities of South Africa;
Ensure effective operational management of engagements between SANBI and other organisations and stakeholders, with regard to environmental and Eco-DRR regulatory advice;
Lead capacity development initiatives among officials in four Districts to incorporate biodiversity priorities and Eco-DRR considerations in their work; and
Lead the compilation of a baseline assessment of existing risk management frameworks, tools and approaches for ecological and built infrastructure in the four Districts.
This position requires degree in Environmental Sciences or equivalent relevant qualification at NQF 7, focused on environmental management.
A post-graduate qualification in Environmental Sciences or equivalent relevant qualification at NQF 8 will be added advantage.
This position also requires 8 years of work experience in the relevant field of environmental policy implementation and/or advisory capacity of which 4 years should be in first-line management position(s).
