REQUIREMENTS :
Grade 12 plus an appropriate (NQF Level 7) undergraduate qualification in Environmental Science / B Agricultural Management or equivalent appropriate tertiary qualification as recognised by SAQA.
Five (5) years post qualification experience of which three (3) must be Assistant Director level within Natural Resource Management. A valid driver’s licence (with the exception of people with disabilities).
DUTIES :
Manage and control the planning and design of conservation structures in compliance with environmental and conservation legislations. Coordination of projects.
Manage and control the prescribed administration of financial aid schemes with regard to the conservation of natural resources and implementation of norms and standards as prescribed by DAFF. Manage and control extension services on land care.
Study technological advances and best practices in order to perform land care functions according to the required standards. Coordinate agricultural risk and disaster management.
Provide recommendations on applications for rezoning and sub-division of agricultural land.
