An appropriate relevant Diploma or Degree in Nursing. Post basic Diploma/BTech in Occupational Health Nursing Science. Qualification in Nursing Management will be an added advantage.
A minimum of 10 years nursing experience of which 5 years must be as a Middle Manager in Occupational Health Nursing environment. Registration with SANC and SASOHN. A valid driver’s license.

Relevant stakeholders. Customer service (Batho Pele Principles) DPSA EHWP guidelines. National Core Standards. Legislative requirements. COID Act. Medical Regulations.
Nursing Act/ Regulations. Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS). PFMA and National Treasury Regulations. Basic Conditions of Employment Act. Skills: Computer literacy, change management, Strategic management and leadership, financial management, Interpersonal, Problem solving and strong analysis, Strong Report Writing, Resilience.
Duties :
Develop systems and monitor the implement of Occupational Health Services for GDH in the Province. Oversee the establishment of Occupational Health and Wellness Centres in GDH.
Monitor and manage all GDH COID claims. Develop programmes and monitor the implementation of medical surveillance. Oversee and monitor the provision of PHC services to manage chronic diseases and reproductive health. Develop Polices, protocols and SOPs for the effective implementation of OH programmes and processes.
Oversee the development of a referral system for OH and Wellness. Oversee the involvement of OH in Emergency Preparedness specifically in emergency care, first aid and evacuation equipment.
Develop an operational plan for OH. Monitor and manage absenteeism with HR and supervisors. Ensure and monitor OH Legal Compliance with regard to (COID, Medical Surveillance, First Aid etc).
Establish and maintain internal and external relations with OH Stakeholders and other disciplines. Lead the development/review and implementation of all OH initiatives including training.
Manage the operations and resources (Human Finance, Equipment, Assets) of the sub-directorate. Develop and submit OH monthly, quarterly and annual reports timeously.
