Deputy Manager Nursing (Level 1 and 2 Hospital) at Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness

REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683) that allows registration with SANC as Professional Nurse OR 4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) OR 3 year Diploma in Nursing (R171)
• Registration with SANC as Professional Nurse.
• A minimum of nine (9) years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse.
• At least 4 years must be appropriate/recognisable experience at management level.
• Valid driver's license. Willingness to perform standby after hours
• Computer literate and able to work with MS Office
• Knowledge of Nursing Act, Health Act, Skills Development Act, Public Service Regulations, Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act

DUTIES:

• To ensure that holistic nursing care service is delivered in cost effective, efficient and equitable manner
• Ensure compliance with professional and ethical practice
• Provide professional, technical and management support for provision of quality patient care
• Advocate and ensure promotion of nursing ethos and professionalism
• Manage and utilise resources in accordance with relevant directives
• Establish and maintain inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teamwork
