    Design Draughtsman

    Purpose of the role

    • To design, engineer and deliver state-of the art automated Laboratory systems, sampling systems and online analyzer systems which exceed our customers’ expectations.

    Your Responsibilities
    Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Design integrity of project and products
    • Detail design for projects and products
    • Liaise with engineers to produce flow diagrams from client specifications
    • Take part in installation and commissioning of systems
    • Through the service teams provide expert support to customers
    • Work on research and development projects
    • Work with our partners, vendors and manufacturers
    • Support technical development of members within the team
    • Continually work to improve efficiencies within the engineering department
    • Analyze complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures
    • Complete Engineering design and drawings including 3D and 2D modelling
    • Perform design analyses
    • Promote a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities
    • Design and implementation of modifications for products
    • Maintain integrity within the data management platform
    • From time to time participate in “on the tools” work in the workshop environment including mechanical assembly, fabrication and modification

    What You Bring

    • A relevant tertiary qualification in Draughting, ideally a multi-disciplinary qualification will be preferred
    • At least 4-6 years’ experience in the relevant field
    • At least 2-5 years’ experience with automated systems
    • Demonstrate knowledge of manufacturing processes
    • Demonstrate proficient knowledge in Autodesk products, specifically, Inventor, AutoCAD, Vault and Navisworks
    • Relevant finite element analysis experience will be an added advantage
    • Ability to work in a team or individually on multiple concurrent projects
    • Relevant work experience in an international environment
    • Willingness to learn and undergo job specific training (ex. software/project/sampling)
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Computer experience using standard MS Office suite of programs is required
    • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in order to work with customers, contractors and other personnel on a daily basis
