Desktop Support Engineer

Role Summary:

Provides a variety of information technology support services including but not limited to connectivity, hardware/software support, and overall Field IT incident & service request resolution. The role also provides support & delivery of Enterprise and Business Unit projects and initiatives

Core Responsibilities & Expectations :

Field IT Services
- Hardware installation and support; PCs, tablets, mobility devices, printers, specialized devices
- Software support
- End-point vulnerability remediation (Antivirus, patching)
- Enterprise and BU project demand (planned & unplanned) – e.g. Real-estate move supports , Global Application rollouts
- PC Lifecycle Management incl, Asset mgmt. tasks
- Local infrastructure service support (Smart hands for Server, network and VOIP)On-site Smart Hands (support and liaison with 3rd party & internal JCI Support teams)
- IT procurement Assistance
- Access management (network shares)
- Local IT security compliance (comms room set-up, maintenance & access)
- Assist compliance teams with audit tasks
- Satellite office support (including travel)
- Vendor management
A Global Engineering Organisation based in Johannesburg is currently looking for an experienced Desktop Support engineer for an initial 6 Month contract, due to extend.
