Computer Information Technology Technician at Nelson Mandela Bay Metro

Qualifications and experience required:

• Diploma in Information Technology/relevant professional ICT qualification.
• Appropriate one to two years’ relevant experience.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Physically fit and able-bodied.

Key attributes and competencies:

• Able to articulate basic concepts and knowledge to aspects within IT discipline.
• Ability to identify faults and undertake minor maintenance on hardware.
• Ability to install and set up devices such as dumb terminals and barcode scanners.
• Ability to produce statistical reports.
• Ability to maintain an inventory register of all computer equipment.
• Able to support internal and external communications process for business change management programs and projects.
• Ability to understand the key drivers in the sector and municipality.
• Ability to identify internal and external stakeholders relevant to projects.

Job purpose:

• Maintaining the Markets/computer system and perform related administrative duties.
• As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
