DevOps Engineer (Mid – Senior) – (Cape Town – Hybrid) at Datafin Recruitment

ENVIRONMENT:

• A Company who builds and scales AI, SaaS and Talent platforms, is looking for a DevOps Engineer with strong experience in CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and cloud-native environments. You will be responsible for automating infrastructure, improving deployment pipelines, and ensuring scalable, secure, and reliable systems.

DUTIES:

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
• Manage Kubernetes clusters and containerized environments
• Automate deployment and scaling processes
• Ensure system reliability, monitoring, and alerting
• Collaborate with development teams to improve workflows
• Optimize performance and cloud costs

REQUIREMENTS:

Core Technologies

• Cloud: AWS (preferred), Azure or GCP
• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
• Infrastructure: Terraform
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS DevOps tools

Core Requirements

• 3–5+ years’ experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
• Experience with Docker and containerization
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong English communication

Certifications (Preferred)

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• AWS DevOps Engineer certification

Education

• BSc Computer Science / IT or HBO/WO Informatica

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Security best practices
• Experience in SaaS or product environments
