Adhere to all departmental requirements and protocols. Knowledge of radiation protection, quality assurance and equipment safety. Provide paediatric radiography service independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of Digital Radiography imaging modalities and medical imaging workflow. Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Good interpersonal skills and perform effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Comply with National Core Standards requirements. Good time management. Knowledge of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems and Radiology Information Systems.
Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Radiographer in Diagnostic Radiography.
Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as Diagnostic Radiographer in respect of RSA-qualified employees. 1-year relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as Diagnostic Radiographer in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as Diagnostic Radiographer in respect of RSA-qualified employees. A Minimum of 11 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as Diagnostic Radiographer in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as Diagnostic Radiographer in respect of RSA-qualified employees.

Provide a radiographic service for paediatric patients and produce diagnostic images of high quality. Provide optimal patient care. Imaging of paediatric patients in specialized areas.
Perform CT Scan imaging, Digital Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Theatre, DR Mobiles, Panorex Imaging and Lodox. Optimal use and care of equipment and daily quality checks. Participate in personal, departmental and hospital in-service and training programs. Provide relief duty in absence of the colleagues and provide support to supervisor.
Registration with the HPCSA as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
Render 40 - hours per week which includes after hour services on weekends and night duty rotations as determined by the department.
