Director: Planning and Development at Overstrand Local Municipality

Requirements: 

• A Post Graduate Degree or relevant qualification in the field of Building Sciences / Architect / Town and Regional Planning or Development Studies, or equivalent 
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience at senior and middle management level, of which at least 2 years must be at senior management level 
• Must have proven successful Professional Developmental / Town and Regional Planning experience 
• Comply with the MMC regulations for Senior Managers (MMC Regulations 2007) 
• Compliance with the minimum competency requirements for
• Senior Managers as laid down in Government Notice R493 dated 15 June 2007 (as amended from time to time)
• The required core competencies and minimum competency requirements as stipulated in Annexures A and B of the Regulations on
• Appointment and Conditions of Employment of Senior Managers as promulgated in Government Gazette 37245 dated 17 January 2014 (as amended from time to time)
• Good knowledge and understanding of relevant policies and legislation 
• Good knowledge and understanding of institutional governance systems and performance management 
• Must have extensive knowledge of the public office environment 
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. 
• An appreciation of the centrality of the IDP for effective service delivery. 
• A high degree of aptitude for strategic/ operational planning and management, decision- making, leadership, innovation, n and motivation. 
• An added advantage would be registration as Professional
• Planner in accordance with the Planning Professions Act, 2002, Act 36 of 2000
