Distribution Manager - Modderfontein at AECI Limited

Job Description    

• Manage the operating expense budget for distribution and warehousing.
• Set the capital budget, track operating and capital expenditures against budget and put actions in place to reduce expenditure.
• Actively participate in the cross-functional meetings and report on stock shortages, slow moving and obsolete stocks
• Oversee operations in terms of stock, transport, security and all other logistics to ensure on time in full delivery.
• Conduct root cause analysis and identify resolutions.
• Check adherence to legal requirements before implementing any changes.
• Assess if proposed changes will have impact downstream or upstream then engage and discuss with the parties affected.
• Manage stock control and stock management areas.
• Take overall accountability for the project management of capital projects, for example an upgrade of a magazine.
• Coordinate cross functional integration in all capital expenditure projects and close out capital expenditure project.
• Select, assign, lead and manage people.
• Set clear objectives for self and others and measure achievements against these objectives.
• Train, mentor and coach subordinates.
• Act as the responsible Officer for Site in terms of Section 16(2) of the OHS Act no 85 of 1993.
• Comply with Safety, Health and Environment standards.
• Support continual business improvement and change management.
• Comply with governance and established policies, systems, procedures and practices.

Qualifications & Experience    

• Degree or diploma in supply chain / logistics or Engineering
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in Management
• Experience within explosives industry will be an advantage
• Knowledge of Supply Chain Management Principles & Distribution Resource Planning
• Knowledge of SAP and MS Excel/PowerPoint
• Knowledge of Inventory Control and Management
