Drawing Clerk at DB Schenker

Responsibilities

• Follow up daily with airlines confirming flight arrival times (work with de-grouping manifest).
• Ensure cargo is drawn as soon as possible from airline/agent.
• Follow up on delays and part shipment. 
• Check damages with airline and endorse damage report.
• Communicate internally with any delays on consolidations and check if there are any VOCs.
• Manage return of part shipment slip to the controller.
• Attend to queries raised by controller.
• Ensure that cargo is efficiently packed, stack and secure items in position on the trucks to prevent damage while loading shipments.

Qualifications

• Valid code 10 drivers licence with PDP
• Matric/Grade 12 is essential 
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in cargo drawing from different foreign airlines 
• Thorough knowledge of airline procedures
• Must have a sense of urgency to handle extreme pressure and be able to meet strict deadlines 
• Excellent communicator skills (written and verbal)
• Willing to work after hours/weekends and on public holiday when required 
• Must be a team player
