Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance and Repairs

• Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance on motorcycles and delivery bikes.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and performance-related faults.
• Replace worn or defective components, including brakes, chains, tyres, batteries, suspension systems, and engine components.
• Perform safety inspections and roadworthiness checks.
• Test motorcycles/bikes following repairs to ensure quality workmanship and safe operation.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with company standards and manufacturer specifications.

Fleet Management Support

• Transport motorcycles, bikes, equipment, and parts between operational sites when required.
• Load, secure, and transport motorcycles using trailers in a safe and compliant manner.
• Conduct vehicle and trailer inspections before and after trips.
• Assist with breakdown recovery and roadside support where necessary.
• Ensure company vehicles are maintained, clean, and roadworthy at all times.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure all repairs and maintenance work meet manufacturer specifications and company standards.
• Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety requirements at all times.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
• Use workshop tools and equipment safely and correctly.

Operational Support

• Conduct pre-delivery inspections on motorcycles/bikes before deployment.
• Assist with breakdown assessments and emergency repairs when required.
• Support the warehouse and operations teams with fleet readiness initiatives.
• Assist in stock control and management of workshop parts and consumables.

Continuous Improvement

• Stay updated on motorcycle maintenance techniques, tools, and technologies.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance fleet reliability and operational efficiency.

Travel Requirements

• Travel between sites, warehouses, suppliers, and operational locations as required.
• Be available for occasional overnight travel and extended driving assignments when operationally necessary.

Minimum Requirements

SKILL REQUIREMENTS / PERSONAL COMPETENCIES

• Strong motorcycle maintenance and repair skills.
• Knowledge of motorcycle engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose faults and implement effective repair solutions.
• Safety-conscious approach to work.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of accountability and reliability.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
• Relevant technical or mechanical certification will be advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years' driving experience in a fleet, logistics, transport, or operational environment.
• Valid South African Driver's Licence: Code B, Code 10 or Code EB (Trailer Licence) will be advantageous 
• Experience Loading, towing, and positioning trailers carrying motorcycles or equipment.
• Experience conducting vehicle inspections and basic vehicle maintenance will be advantageous.
• Experience working in a workshop, fleet environment, or motorcycle (Bikes) dealership will be advantageous.
• Proven experience diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults.
