Economics Lecturer - Makhanda at Rhodes University

Main Objectives

• All academics are responsible for disseminating knowledge (teaching and learning), creating knowledge (research), and community engagement, recognising differences in executing these responsibilities within the various departments and Faculties.  Academics are also expected to assume administrative, management, and/or leadership duties at the departmental, faculty, and/or university levels. 

The Requirements

At least a Ph.D. in Economics or equivalent, or, in exceptional circumstances, a Masters’ degree in Economics, or equivalent with completion of a Ph.D in view (final draft completed).

• Teaching experience at the undergraduate level, with postgraduate teaching experience an advantage.
• Disciplinary expertise in Public Policy, Institutional Economics and related areas.
• An emerging research profile, with at least some journal publications and conference presentations
• Research supervision or co-supervision at postgraduate level
• Track record of administration, management, and/or leadership roles (leadership roles may be informal).
