Educational Psychology Internship at Tshwane University of Technology

• The Directorate of Higher Education and Support in the Department of Student Development and Support (SDS) has one Educational Psychology internship vacancy available at the Soshanguve Campus. The internship is for a period of one year and will commence on 2 January 2027. In accordance with HPCSA requirements, the internship will be full-time, and the intern will be required to work during school holidays.

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Applicants are required to submit, together with the CVs, a standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and identity documents. Failure to comply with this instruction will disqualify the candidate. Further note that candidates may be expected to make a presentation or undergo competency testing.

Critical Performance Areas:

• Offer professional and competent personal counselling/ therapy services and assessments to registered TUT students on the Soshanguve campus under the supervision of a registered educational psychologist.
• Working with the school around Soshanguve to provide educational psychological services to learners, including individual and group therapeutic interventions and psychoeducational assessments
• To help foster and develop both the academic and personal skills of TUT students
• Take part in various psycho-educative activities with TUT students including webinars, awareness campaigns, creating social media content and presenting life skills classes
• Write professional and psychometrically sound assessment reports
• Comply with the administrative requirements at SDS
• Attend multidisciplinary teams’ meetings and work as part of collaborative support team and contribute to effective team functioning

Minimum Requirements (Qualification):

• Currently registered as an MA student in Educational Psychology at a recognized University
• Be registered with the HPCSA as an intern Psychologists by no later than January 2027
