Electrical Assistant at Belgotex Floors

Description

• The main purpose of this role is to carry out repairs and installation to new lights, clean out filters on panels and motors, assist with pulling in of cables, service air conditioners and assist electrician. This role reports into the Electrical and Utilities Manager.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & OUTPUTS

• This role is responsible the repairs of lights in the plant.
• Install new lighting.
• Clean out air conditioners.
• Assist electrician in the plant with breakdowns, maintenance.
• Pull in cables.
• Back wash pool filters for cooling towers
• Clean out filters for panel and motors.

Electrical Management – Deep Focus

• Maintenance, Repairs and Projects:
• Attend to fused lamps in the in the plant.
• Spares are available.
• Minimize wastage.
• Ensure work is done on time with good quality.
• Assist with planned and preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment and switchgear.
• Provide service to the plant.

• Attend to job cards for lighting in the plant.

Safety, Health, Environment – We Tread Softly

• Perform all activities that ensure compliance with applicable safety, health and environment legislation and audit requirements
• Report any safety defects to the Manager.
• Clean the electrical department to ensure that housekeeping standards are always maintained.
• Ensure housekeeping is kept to 5S standards.
• Follow any reasonable work instruction as may be required from time to time.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12/Matric with a pass in Maths/Maths Lit and English.
• At least 2 years’ experience and good understanding of electrical systems
• Good knowledge of various test equipment
• Able to read electrical circuits.

 Knowledge and skill:

• Good knowledge of electricity
• Able to test and repair faults on lighting circuits.
• Attention to detail.
• Installation and wiring on new lighting.
