Electrical Engineer at Defy Appliances

We are currently on a search for an Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team, the main purpose of the role is to Create a product design that fulfils DEFY’s strategic goals while integrating the needs of marketing, purchasing, quality and manufacturing departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To manage and implement platform projects from conceptual phase to implementation.
• To design products/components and/or make improvements/changes to existing products/components in line with market requirements and trends.
• To initiate and design wiring harness specifications for new and existing models.
• To manage and implement cost reduction/quality improvement projects.
• To ensure products comply to standard requirements.
• Production of safer products and minimize risks of injury or damage to property.
• To propose safety measures to ensure that products and appliances comply with international safety standards as well as flammability standards.
• To ensure that electronics on products are functioning correctly.
• To prepare and make presentations in areas of responsibility when required
• To design material to address product safety

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• BSc Degree (Electrical Engineering).
• Experience in 2D & 3D drawing and modelling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Product Development / Project Management experience at a junior level would be an advantage.
• Good understanding of Sheet Metal Design Principles, Plastic & Electrical Components would also be advantageous.
