The Engineering Assistant provides a pool of support of multidiscipline engineering, technical skills and is required to support all the Engineering Foreman/Artisan to whom the individual is allocated to perform low complexity high volume work.
Work of Role
Ensure that all required tools, material and spares are available to perform tasks
General labour support, multi discipline
Material and workshop machinery and equipment control
Use of engineering tools
Loading, dispatching material and equipment to work sites
Provides assistance to all trades (Artisans) with activities within and without the team
Ensure tool availability
Help operational employees to maintain equipment in area of responsibility
Accompany Artisan when inspecting and completing tasks
Qualifications
Grade 12 Maths and Science
Engineering Assistant Certificate of Competency
Experience
Minimum 2 year's relevant experience in engineering
Knowledge and Skills
Communication in English (spoken, written and reading)
Semiskilled with various certificate skills Engineering Advantageous
