Engineering Manager (Mining / Open Cast / Engineering) at Headhunters

Responsibilities:

• Safe operations of HME Earthmoving Plant Equipment
• Sound understanding and exposure to Maintenance Management Principles in large open pit mining operations.
• Ensure equipment availability and reliability to the company’s requirements.
• Knowledge of LCC and MARC contracts and implementation
• Exposure to maintenance management systems and their application
• Experience and knowledge in maintaining large earthmoving equipment (Shovels and Excavators) and haul trucks.
• Understanding of works management in relation to planning and execution of maintenance.
• Defect and Failure analysis
• Continuous improvement management
• Sound Leadership and Management skills in leading a large maintenance team
• Liaise with the Client Engineering Manager on issues related to Equipment specifications and relevant SOP’s
• Financial, Budgeting and cost control management
• Total quality assurance of Plant maintenance function
• Ensure compliance with Safety & Quality policies, procedures and standards
• Project and shutdown management
• Compliance, Governance and Assurance within area of responsibility
• Staff development and Performance Management
• Establish Safe and Healthy work environment

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Mechanical Engineering Degree/ Diploma and Government Certificate of Competency Mines (GCC)
• 10 to 15 years’ related experience within in the Open cast Mining industry, of which at least 5 years must be at management level.
• Must have excellent knowledge and experience managing a large fleet of Heavy Earthmoving Equipment
