BASIC SALARY R 502 420.80 – R 612 151.08 per annum

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• National Diploma Electrical Engineering High Voltage or equivalent (NQF Level 6);
• Technical Qualification
• Valid Driver’s Licence;
• 3 years relevant experience

• Assists in performing well defined engineering tasks under supervision mentorship of an engineering practitioner; and May be part of a structured training program;
• Contributes to the analysis of information and alternatives;

• Contributes to the assessment of condition and expected useful life of assets;
• Updates and maintains components of the asset management plan and asset register;

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Effective maintenance of protection, metering and power management systems (PMS);
• Conduct fault finding on 132 KV, 11 KV, 400 KV and protection systems;
• Periodically inspect metering and protection systems;
• Monitor the technical suitability and behaviour patterns of new and existing protection equipment to identify the most functional and cost-effective system;
• Ensuring commissioning of new equipment;
• Investigate all abnormal functioning of protection equipment and apply corrective measures;
• Injecting current transformer primary and secondary by means of current injection set to determine ratio and magnetizing curves.
