Enterprise Architect at Dark Fibre Africa

Main purpose

 Define and implement the targeted enterprise architecture to enable the organization’s digital business transformation and the realize ROI from IT investments using best practises and thought leadership. Lead the Advisory Business Services team that provides guidance to the customer and business environments by using enterprise, data and solution architecture to make strategic, well-informed business decisions.

 Responsibilities

• .Ensure that business and IT alignment by operating across organizational and computing silos to drive common approaches and expose information assets and processes across the enterprise.
• Provide strategic guidance on digital services and information technology to leverage business operational agility and achieve higher levels of organizational performance.
• Provide strategic guidance to make financial decisions regarding digital services and information technology that impact the bottom line.
• Push digital channels that facilitate the collection of customer data to improve the quality of new products and services.
• Use business intelligence and analytics to support the business operational efficiency initiatives and to identify trends and understand the information that can drive business change for sustainable business.
• Work with stakeholders to build a holistic view of the organization's strategy, processes, information, and information technology assets.
• Collaborate to build and grow a knowledge network which will guide work and technology direction in the business.
• Oversee tracking of global digital- and information-technology trends, opportunities, and threats in the industry.
• Analyse the market for technology opportunities to increase revenue.
• Strengthen technological capabilities by driving innovation and co-creation in relevant innovation forums in the business.
• Link business vision, strategy, and processes to departmental strategy using multiple architectural models or views that show how current and future needs of organization will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner.
• Collaborate, from an enterprise-wide perspective, with business on decisions regarding the priorities of digital and IT products and services in line with the strategic direction.
• Coordinate the development and on-going revision of IT architectural categories.
• Build and retain employee knowledge and skills in specific areas of expertise and drive collaboration in team.
• Support, coach, and mentor staff.
• Manage team performance and promote cohesiveness.

Working conditions

Knowledge, experience, and qualifications

• Honours degree in computer science or closely related field
• Master's degree in related field preferred
• Certifications:
• Togaf or Zachma
• BSS/OSS experience
• ITIL certification
• eTom certification preferred
• CORBIT 4/5 preferred
• 10 years of enterprise architecture capability with strong leadership experience
• 10 years of working experience in IT development, infrastructure and systems analysis in ICT or telecoms industry essential
• Expert knowledge and understanding of networking, cloud infrastructure and virtualization, software development lifecycle and delivery of services
• Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering
• Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand
• Knowledge of IT governance and experience with integration
