Monitor site legal compliance and ensure the site meets all local/national regulatory requirements and client requirements
Ensuring site’s compliance to the ISO 14001:2015 standard, EMPr and EIA
Provide advice on compliance to national Environmental legal requirements (e.g. NEMA Act, NEMA Waste Act, etc.) & implement relevant procedures and policies
Ensure storage of Hazardous Chemical Substance in the work area in accordance with global standards and local legal requirements to prevent unsafe conditions in the work area as well as pollution
Identify the environmental aspects and impacts in the project area to prevent environmental pollution
Ensuring all the reporting related to the environment such as Waste, Wastewater, Energy Consumption and Carbon Emissions is done on a regular basis to related parties
Monitor and measure the performance environmental parameters such as waste, water consumption, energy consumption in accordance with company standards
Ensure each company operational process complies with regulatory aspects related to the environment in accordance with local legal regulations
Renew all required environmental permits, as a form of legalization of the company's operations related to environmental aspects
Qualifications and Training:
Bachelor’s degree majoring in Environmental Science/Environmental Management or National Diploma in Environmental Science
Good English language skills (read, write and speak fluently)
Driving Licence
Understand the application of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience:
Having a minimum 3-5 year(s) of experience in construction industry handling environmental management and local regulations (wind farm experience will be an advantage)
Health and safety awareness.
Must have basic report writing skills
Must be able to compile comprehensive and effective Environmental Method Statements
