Environmental Officer: Specialised Production – Compliance & Enforcement at Eastern Cape Department: Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism

 Requirements

• National Senior Certificate
• Relevant Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Natural Sciences or an equivalent qualification
• No experience required as per OSD provisions
• 1–2 years of relevant experience will be an added advantage
• Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
• Comprehensive understanding of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) and all its subsidiary Acts
• Knowledge of the Natural Scientific Professions Act and the Public Service Act
• Familiarity with Public Service Regulations
• Computer literacy and proficiency in relevant applications
• Strong writing and communication skills
• A valid driver’s licence

Duties

• Provide environmental enforcement services in accordance with departmental mandates
• Conduct awareness and enforcement promotion programmes within the district
• Perform and manage administrative and related functions to support enforcement operations
