    Examination Officer

    The Position:

    The role of this position requires effective management of assessments which includes preparation for assessments, security of assessments, and moderation of assessments and maintenance of assessment records for the campus.

    This position reports directly to the Assistant Registrar.

    Minimum qualification:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Post Graduate qualification advantageous

    Minimum experience:

    • Assessment Administrative experience of at least 3 years

    Functional and technical competencies:

    Due to the nature and size of the organization it is not possible to provide a complete and comprehensive list of responsibilities. Responsibilities may change from time to time in consultation with the Assistant Registrar.

    Assessment management

    • Planning for assessments and proactively monitor assessment processes, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action
    • Manage and evaluate assessment processes and procedures on campus.
    • Ensuring effective assessment administration for the campus in consultation with the Assistant Registrar.
    • Implement and adhere to policies, processes and procedures specific to assessments on campus
    • Ensuring effective quality assurance and overall integrity of assessments
    • Communicate with relevant stakeholders (lecturers, administration and students) regarding assessment issues.
    • Management and control of examination papers as per policy requirements.
    • Maintenance of assessment records in co-operation with the Assistant Registrar and academic administration staff where relevant.
    • Participation, where relevant, in campus academic meetings.
    • Participation, where relevant, in management meetings.
    • Management of assessment resources and operations, including invigilation and moderation
    • Coordination of human resources and professional development in consultation with the Assistant Registrar.
    • Implementation of appropriate orientation procedures for staff.
    • Archiving of assessment papers in accordance with CHE requirements.
    • Ensure strict adherence to the code of conduct for staff.
    • Ensure strict adherence to the conditions of enrolment for students.

    Moderation management

    • Plan and prepare for moderation
    • Identify challenges in moderation administration
    • Meet the deadline for submitting moderation to National Office
    • Maintain moderation policies and procedures in line with the CHE framework and PIHE guidelines.

    General

    • Any other responsibilities as reasonably delegated by the Assistant Registrar.
