    Executive Manufacturing - Pretoria

    Purpose

    To provide leadership and strategic direction to the South African Bank Note Company (SABN) by ensuring the development of an integrated manufacturing capability that results in high quality products, in line with customer specifications and expectations, and aligned to company strategy.

    Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • To provide leadership and strategic direction to ensure a manufacturing division aligned to company strategy and in line with international best practice manufacturing standards.
    • To oversee the day-to-day operations of the division, develop short-term and long-term plans aligned to the supply chain goals and objectives of the SABN, and seek approval of these from the MD.
    • To liaise with the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) on technology (bank note design/features/sorting, etc), demand planning, develop delivery schedules, and ensure requisite manufacturing capacity for the production of quality banknotes efficiently and effectively.
    • To lead and guide the development of appropriate strategies, systems and technologies to guarantee the secure handling and control of all security printing products in accordance with international standards.
    • To lead and guide the development of processes and systems that enable integrated manufacturing planning and execution management (cross-functionally) within the division including value chain activities of impacted stakeholders (e.g., procurement).
    • To lead the manufacturing division programmes for the implementation of company strategy, and support project managers as they drive implementation of project plans and transitional programmes.
    • To develop, present and monitor functional budgets in line with SABN strategy.
    • To participate in and initiate R&D activities to support the SABN and SARB's long-term technological needs and strategic capabilities.
    • To direct the development and implementation of an appropriate governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) framework for the Division and ensure strategic risks are identified and assessed and mitigation measures developed and implemented.
    • To manage the development and performance of direct reports and build a high-performance culture through engaged and competent people within the division.

    The Ideal candidate is likely to have:

    • Post-graduate degree in Engineering/Production Or equivalent
    • Management or Business Administration will be an added advantage
    • Certification in total quality management systems and/or continuous improvement technologies; general management will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 12 -15 years of experience of which at least 8 years in a senior management role preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
    • Experience of the printing industry will be an added advantage.
