    Expediting Superintendent

    ACCOUNTABILITY:

    • Reporting to and supporting the Expediting Team Manager as well as the Expeditors[WLA(Z1] [VC(Z2] , this role is responsible for ensuring deadlines are met on all tasks given by the Expediting team manager for expediting of orders.

    KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

    Expeditors

    • Interact closely with Suppliers, Transporters & Clearing Agents
    • Interact with the KCC Mine
    • Expediting Team Manager

    QUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • National Diploma in Logistics or similar qualification 
    • APICS / SAPICS certification (preferred)

    Competencies:

    • Multi-tasking and excellent management of personal time and priorities is essential
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills that work effectively within team and different audiences
    • Demonstrated, well-developed judgment and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to promote vision
    • Domain knowledge of Logistic processes (road), Incoterms
    • Ability to absorb and work under pressure

    Work Experience:

    • 1-4 Years’ relevant experience in managing a team 
    • Expediting / Logistics as well as Import/Export of products 
    • Experience in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a PLUS
    • Computer literate MS Office (Advanced Excel skills)
    • SAP knowledge and experience
    • COUPA experience is a plus

    GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

    • Tracking and Verification of all importation documents, certificates, licenses, shipments and trucks.
    • Analyse all data received to identify any supply risk.
    • Monitor Supplier and Transporter performance by ensuring all deliveries are in line with confirmed due dates and loading expectancy.
    • Considers urgency, important, risk factors of all products in transit.
    • Creates shared meaning by clearly and confidently communicating the relevant information to a decision or task.
    • Stays calm and focused on the task at hand under pressure.
    • Remains positive when under pressure, uncertainty and changing business conditions.
    • Delivers accurate and on time Tracking updates.
    • Adheres to rules and regulations. Follows instructions. 
    • Be conscious of details of all inbound transport and products. Work fast and maintain productivity.
    • Be comfortable multitasking
    • Takes initiative and invest energy to make things happen, resolve queries.
    • Applies practical skills and common sense to solve problems and deliver accountabilities
    • Review and approve transport quotes and invoicing from freight forwarders
    • Work closely with Lubumbashi team to ensure queries are resolved and import permits closed to limit risk of penalties
    • Any other tasks required by the management/hierarchy within capacities/skill
