Explosives Operator Gr 1 (x3) - Delay Manufacturing D3 Plant at Sasol

Purpose of job

• To reduce the diameter of a lead stubby and to cut delay elements into the required cut lengths. Compliance with all SHERQ procedures in daily operations.

Key Accountabilities

• Assemble and Operate 2 main Machines (Drawbench and Traub); 
• Do fault findings on the machines for any deviations from the setup;
• Reduction of delay stubby into a required diameter using draw bench machines; 
• Perform quality checks on drawn tubes and cut element using Shadowgraph machine to ensure that all units meet the specified cut length;
• Housekeeping to maintain 5s standards;
• Do stock count of all the raw material in the production area;
• Do visual inspection and use relevant measurement tools and capture information on the Lot Traveler;
• Completion of production documents;
• Movement of cut elements into the heated storage area;
• Able to work on your own with little supervision.

Formal Education

• Grade 12 with Maths & Science.

Working Experience

• 12+ months experience in Explosives Manufacturing;
• Plant specific experience (Delay Manufacturing – D3) will be an added advantage.
