Reddam House Umhlanga is seeking to appoint a Female Boarding Mentor to join the school on a full-time, permanent contract from 1 January 2026.
This role takes a holistic approach to supporting the wellbeing, personal growth, and academic progress of boarding students. The successful candidate will foster a warm, inclusive, and structured boarding environment where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to reach their full potential. Working as part of the boarding team, the Mentor will play an essential role in building strong relationships, maintaining high standards of care, and contributing to a positive residential community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engage, mentor, and care for boarding students.
Establish a nurturing environment that promotes comfort and emotional wellbeing.
Maintain professionalism in punctuality, behaviour, and standards of work at all times.
Evaluate, reflect on, and refine mentoring practice.
Participate in personal and school-wide professional development.
Respond to parent emails and telephone messages within 24 hours.
Demonstrate loyalty and commitment to all facets of Reddam House Umhlanga.
Attend school events and special occasions at the discretion of the relevant Head.
Perform weekly duties, including attending meals, evening prep, and night-time lock-up.
Undertake any additional tasks as directed by Senior Management, in line with the role.
