    Finance Administrator

    Role Description

    Purpose of the position

    To provide administrative support to the Head of Finance, including processing invoices and payments, performing bookkeeping functions, maintaining records, and preparing reports. 

     

    Key Performance Areas

    • Perform the bookkeeping function from transaction to balance sheet for several companies and trusts
    • Process customer invoices and account payments for suppliers and faculty members
    • Prepare and process the monthly payroll for employees and learners 
    • Manage accounts payable and receivable activities
    • Manage the company’s bank account, petty cash, and credit card
    • Process and reconcile all payment requisitions and expense claims
    • Create and update records of daily transactions
    • Prepare and adjust journal entries as required
    • Ensure maintenance of the general and subsidiary ledgers
    • Assist with the preparation and management of budgets
    • Reconcile monthly general ledger balances, invoices and credit card statements
    • Reconcile vendor payments to contractual agreements in place
    • Maintain all financial records and files as per company policy
    • Work with the Head of Finance to prepare management accounts, reports and statements
    • Prepare packs for board and trustee meetings
    • Prepare documents for the timely filing of company tax
    • Assist with procurement and risk management processes
    • Support the annual financial audit process through the preparation of information required
    • Perform financial due diligence audits where required  
    • Support the annual B-BBEE and EE audit process through the preparation of information and documentation required
    • Support the preparation of the annual Workplace Skills Plan and Training Report through the preparation of information and documentation required

     

    Role Requirements

    Qualifications

    A degree or diploma in Bookkeeping or Accounting or the equivalent

     

    Experience

    • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role
    • Hands-on experience with Pastel accounting software   

     

    Competencies Required

    • Solid knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
    • Excellent knowledge of cost accounting, risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel 
    • Able to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
    • Able to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Exceptional attention to detail
    • Superior analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills
    • A passion for delivering memorable customer experiences

     

    Additional Requirements

    • A valid RSA driver’s license and own transport
    • Ability to work extended hours if required
