Roles & Responsibilities

The main responsibility of the successful incumbent is effective financial management and control of all financial and legal aspects within the trade segment, with the aim to add economic value and oversee the coordination of the purchasing environment within the company.

• Accurate and timely reporting of financial results on a monthly and yearly basis of the fertiliser departments.
• High level of interpretation and reporting of financial information, identifying and initiation of corrective measures to address deviations and the management of the corrective process.
• Identify and communicate any shortcomings in operational systems and processes, ensure ongoing development and maintenance of systems and develop alternative processes for optimising strategies where necessary.
• Identify, analyse and communicate relevant business risks through expertise and self-development and interpret trends in the macro-economic environment which has an influence on the trade sector and communicate recommendations.
• Evaluate and document the terms negotiated with suppliers in the group and ensure that the Group benefits from the relationships in the long-term.
• Liaise with departments and people management
• Supervising, mentoring and reviewing of work performed by senior accountants.

Requirements

• Registered CA(SA)
• Minimum of 2 years post article experience in a retail environment
