Finance Officer ED Finance at Nelson Mandela University

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

• To Ensure the processing and effective administration of student accounts in compliance with Nelson Mandela university policies and procedures, as well as administration and processing of staff study
• Benefits and external bursary accounts in terms of their specific requirements.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Ensure accurate maintenance of external bursary accounts, which include allocation, collection and reconciliation thereof.
• Validate process and monitor staff subsidy transactions
• Make appropriate adjustments to student accounts in accordance with policy and/or module changes
• Validate subject cancellation credits and process appropriate journals and batch journals in accordance with institutional policy
• Handle written and verbal enquiries
• Process internal and external fund transfers

CORE COMPETENCIES

• Knowledge of MS Word and Excel
• Financial Management skills
• Good analytical skills
• Ability to communicate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS

In order to be considered for appointment to this post, candidate must have

• Matric and preferably Financial Accounting I, with at least a minimum of three years’ experience in a financial administration.
