Financial Accountant (Bedfordview) at Afrimat

Minimum Qualification/ Experience:

• BCom accounting degree or equivalent qualification
• 5-7 years’ experience in similar role
• Experience in ERP system, preferably Accpac
• Attention to detail
• Must have the ability to work without supervision
• Must have the ability to work under pressure and be able to adapt to sudden changes
• Must have good interpersonal and effective communication skills
• Positive attitude and hardworking

Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):

• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage the day-to-day functions of the admin and finance department
• Manage, coach & mentoring of the accounting team members
• Maintain and develop internal control systems and procedures
• Provide support to operational management team when & where needed
• Various reporting responsibilities
• Finalising month-end accounts within required deadline
• Assist with overseeing the procurement department
• Liaise with internal and external auditors
• Calculate and submit VAT and income tax returns
• Cashflow planning
• Budgets and forecasting
• BEE planning and implementation
• Major tasks include: 1) Review of creditors reconciliations 2.) Review and release of EFT payments
• General Ledger reconciliations
• Execute ad hoc, daily and monthly tasks
• Execute all agreed projects and / or carry out ad hoc assignments
