    Boilermaker (Peak Quarry)

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

    • Matric (Grade 12)
    • N3 relevant to Trade
    • Red Seal Trade Test Certificate (Boilermaker)
    • Valid RSA driver’s license
    • Experience in Boilermaking with various disciplines is advantageous such as fitting and electrical
    • Must have good interpersonal skills
    • Must have good leadership qualities
    • Be able to work under pressure, independently and in a team
    • Must be plant maintenance and fabrication orientated with at least five years’ experience
    • Knowledge of Maintenance Management Methods
    • Experience in mining and/or heavy machinery and facilities involving complex production processes
    • Medically fit in terms of the Mine Health & Safety Act

    Duties and Responsibilities (Includes but is not limited to):

    • Planning and executing work in a workshop environment
    • Ensuring safe work practices and compliance with all SHE & MHS legislation
    • Report faulty equipment and unsafe conditions
    • Read and interpret technical drawings
    • To ensure that Safety rules and procedures are adhered to, according to the rules and regulations of the workshop and mine
    • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools as well as measuring instruments and reassemble equipment
    • Perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
    • Assemble, install and/or repair, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment
    • Must be able to work in a workshop and plant environment
    • Must be available on standby

    Boilermaker (Pietermaritzburg)

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Applicants must be in possession of Grade 12 (Matric) / least N3 in Mechanical Studies
    • Trade Test Certificate in Boiler-making
    • ±3 years on the job experience
    • Knowledge of safety standards and relevant sections of OHSA of 1993
    • Knowledge of different fabrication techniques for different alloys
    • Knowledge of RCA, especially identifying cause of various metal failures under stress
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
    • Good knowledge of boiler-making and welding equipment
    • Knowledge of basic rigging practices and safety aspects

    The person will be responsible for but not limited to:

    • Conduct route inspections in assigned areas of responsibility to identify defects and generate work orders for the repair work to be scheduled
    • Works closely with the maintenance supervisor by providing necessary information to improve work practices and procedures
    • Fabrication of plate-work for replacement, repairs or modification of existing equipment
    • Construction and erection of approved new installations in the plant
    • Attend breakdowns, investigates root causes of failures and records feedback for the planner to capture them for continuous improvement in systems and procedures
    • Conducts regular maintenance on plants and equipment according to the maintenance plan
    • Participate in major breakdowns and planned shutdowns performing delegated repairs and other tasks for extended periods of overtime
    • Does standby duties on back-shift, public holidays and weekends on a rotational basis with other artisans
    • Maintains good housekeeping standards by keeping the working area neat and tidy
    • Maintains safe working conditions and always follows safe-working practices, ensuring all those around him do the same
    • Participates in safety and environmental improvement programs including near-miss reporting and submitting suggestions for improvement
    • Proposes modifications to equipment for better performance or safety improvements to the Maintenance Supervisor
    • Performs any other reasonable tasks when requested by Maintenance Supervisor

    Minimum Qualification/ Experience:

    • Minimum Grade 12
    • Qualified Earthmoving equipment Mechanic (Red Seal/Trade Test)
    • Valid Driver’s License - Code 10/14
    • 5 years’ experience as a Site Mechanic\ Diesel Mechanic
    • Pre-employment medical required
    • Computer Literate
    • Be willing to work overtime and weekends as and when required

    Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Maintain professional workmanship standards

    • Have knowledge of engines, hydraulics pneumatics, undercarriage and auto electrical
    • Repair loaders; dumpers; excavators; trucks & LDV’s within specification and agreed repair times
    • Ensure complete, accurate and timeous job card feedback and repair reports
    • Perform troubleshooting, Fault Diagnosis and do RCA on failures
    • Perform machine inspections on vehicles and compile backlog lists
    • Coordinate assistants to perform first line of maintenance tasks
    • Pro-actively support & participate in safety & work practice related initiatives
    • Ensure use of Personal Protective Equipment in accordance with the applicable policy & prescriptions
    • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards
    • Ensure good management & maintenance of tools

    Millwright (Ninians Quarry)

    Minimum Qualification/ Experience:

    • Grade 12
    • Qualified trade as Artisan (Red Deal/ Trade Test)
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience
    • Must have broad knowledge and experience on conveyer belts, gearboxes, pumps and crushers
    • Drivers license
    • Must be computer literate- MS Office Suite
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
    • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics
    • Should have excellent communication skills both verbally and written

    Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Maintain the planned maintenance of all facilities to ensure the equipment operates efficiently and safely
    • Conduct trouble shooting, fault diagnosis, inspections and maintenance of equipment
    • Mentor apprentices
    • Complete required legal monthly inspections and maintain the required SHE system
    • Use personal protective equipment in accordance with risk assessments and company policies
    • Attend to machine breakdowns of a mechanical and electrical nature for all equipment under engineering/production functional control of shift
    • Perform change overs in the production environment

    Financial Accountant (Bedfordview)

    Minimum Qualification/ Experience:
