Plumbing Intern (Southern Suburbs (Cape) at Melomed Private Hospitals

Description

• Assist the Technical Department with daily plumbing maintenance activities under supervision.
• Gain practical experience in the installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of plumbing, water supply and drainage systems.
• Assist with routine inspections, preventative maintenance, fault identification and basic plumbing repairs under supervision.
• Assist with identifying and addressing leaks, blockages, faulty fittings and other plumbing-related issues.
• Assist with the maintenance of water reticulation systems, including water storage tanks, pipes, valves and associated equipment.
• Assist with the safe handling and maintenance of plumbing tools, equipment and materials.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, practical training and workplace experience.
• Adhere to occupational health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures.
• Support general maintenance activities and departmental tasks as required.

Requirements

• Grade 12
• Proof of completion of an N6 Qualification in Plumbing obtained through a recognised TVET College
• Basic knowledge and understanding of plumbing systems, water supply, drainage and maintenance
• Basic knowledge of plumbing tools, equipment and materials
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
• Willingness to learn and develop practical technical skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
