• Trade Accounting & Financial Accounting Team Lead
• My client, (multinational) is seeking an experienced accountant to build and lead a high-performing accounting team in support of the Marketing Finance function.
• This is a hands-on role where you will be instrumental in preparing financial statements and internal management accounts for entities operating in various commodities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team responsible for trade accounting and financial accounting tasks.
• Understand, perform, and continuously improve existing processes including:
• Broker reconciliations
• Intercompany reconciliations
• Inventory reconciliations
• P&L reconciliations and investigation of erroneous trading entries
• Month-end journal postings
• Liaise with auditors for management and statutory audits.
• Contribute to management reporting and analysis.
• Build strong working relationships with internal accounting teams across global locations.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and improvements.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Chartered Accounting qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
• Fully qualified CA(SA) with 3-5 years post-qualification experience
• Leadership/management experience preferred (minimum 3 years)
• Strong technical IFRS knowledge (IFRS 9, 15, 13, 16)
• Keen interest in commodity markets
• Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel, and interest in process automation
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage cross-functional relationships
• High attention to detail, ownership, and initiative in a fast-paced environment
• Advanced written and spoken English
