Financial Controller at AECI Limited

Job Description    

• Manage account reconciliation of bank accounts
• Delivery of timeous, relevant and reliable financial management information for decision making
• Identification and recording of asset retirement obligation (with inputs from Retained Business / Finance for the determination of values)
• Liaise with / support Group Treasury CoE regarding bank accounts and banking relationships
• Assist Treasury CoE with cash flow forecasting
• Cut off transaction processing, (Ledger maintenance and opening / closing of periods)
• Ensure recording of financial transactions in the correct GL accounts
• Ensure reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers is completed as per timelines
• Managing asset additions, retirements and adjustments and reconciliations
• Manage depreciation calculations
• Manage and reconcile cash position (SA specific)
• Oversee EFT transfers
• Performing bank reconciliations
• Summarising the GL into preliminary trial balances
• Customer Relationship Management
• Implement and monitor compliance to Accounting policies and procedures
• Assist in managing the implementation of corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls
• Assist with the identification of internal control weaknesses and suggest/implement improvements
• Ensure compliance with SLA criteria (specific to area of responsibility)
• Comply with Safety, Health and Environment standards
• Provide leadership and direction to the team to drive a high-performance culture
• Monitor team delivery and performance in line with SLAs
• Set individual and team KPIs and provide regular performance feedback through a well-defined and implemented performance review program
• Develop and implement training initiatives for staff to build and develop skills within the team
• Ensure open communication channels to staff and implement change management interventions where necessary

Qualifications & Experience    

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification, Honours degree will be an advantage
• 4-5 years’ experience within a shared services environment and management experience
• Sound knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP ECC
