The Role

• The Financial Controller will lead financial control for all entities in Africa, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and financial strategy execution. This role involves managing multiple entities, including South Africa, Zambia, DRC, Botswana, and Ghana, and supporting operational teams.

The Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Ensure monthly closing and reporting for all entities (WD4 for closing, WD6 for OneStream input and supplementary schedules).
• Cashflow Management: Prepare weekly cash forecasts and monthly accounts receivable reports for Treasury.
• Performance Analysis: Present monthly sales area performance reviews, including finance slides.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and Capex control.
• Financial Statements & Audits: Prepare financial statements, external audit files, year-end reporting packages, and manage quarterly balance sheet reviews.
• Regulatory Compliance: Handle SARB and exchange control applications, statutory returns, and transfer pricing compliance.
• Banking & Payroll: Maintain banking operations (open accounts, manage facilities, vehicle finance), and oversee payroll input and related queries.
• Internal Controls: Review stock take variances and ensure compliance with internal controls and processes.
• Operational Support: Collaborate with operational teams, MD, and service providers across Africa.
• Team Management: Lead and support the finance team (Accountant and Senior Accountant).
• Accounting System: Oversee the use and maintenance of Sage Evolution 200.
• BBB-EE Audit: Assist with BBB-EE audits and ensure compliance.

The Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (CIMA is advantageous).
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in financial management.
• Proficiency in financial data analysis and reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competency in financial systems.
• A proactive problem-solving mindset with a strong work ethic.
