    Financial Controller

    Your opportunity
    As Financial Controller, you will build, grow and lead core areas of the Finance department. You’ll be accountable for the rigour of our end to end finance processes, the quality of our financial reporting and insights and ensuring the regulatory compliance of the company. Working with the Head of Finance, you will set the strategy and direction of the Finance team ensuring the fundamentals are delivered and that Finance is recognized as a valued and trusted partner to the business. 
    What you'll be doing
    Accounting operations

    • Managing accounting operations (including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition)
    • Participating in Working Capital management as well as the initiation of best in class treasury practices to optimise the cash conversion cycle of the company
    • Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
    • Documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
    • Streamlining and improving accounting systems and operations
    • Overseeing the management of cash flow and debt/debt collection
    • Oversee the payroll function and ensure statutory compliance of all filings

    Financial reporting

    • Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
    • Creating weekly monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
    • Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting any variances
    • Performing month-end and year-end close processes
    • Ensuring all reporting is compliant with statutory law and financial regulations

    Financial strategy

    • Contributing to company financial strategy and decision-making processes
    • Assisting the Head of Finance in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members
    • Business Partnering and consulting with the business on commercial decisions
    • Assisting with strategic tax planning and compliance matters.Managing the audit process and liaising with external personnel as required
    • Organising internal audits as required

    Team leadership

    • Providing coaching to members of the team to assist them in achieving goals and developing key skills
    • Identifying the team’s strengths and weaknesses in order to effectively delegate tasks and determining areas of opportunity and developing the appropriate steps to improve on them.
    • Setting clear team goals (OKR’s and KPI’s) and evaluating progress along the way to allow the team to work collaboratively.
    • Identifying and implementing processes to ensure that individual projects, goals, communications and important documents remain clear and accessible at all times.

    • Advanced Excel
    • Advanced math skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Stakeholder management
    • Thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
    • Experience with creating financial statements.
    • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
    • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
    • Time-management abilities

    Qualifications

    • Fully qualified ACCA, CA, CPA or MBA (non-negotiable)

    Preferred experience 

    • 3 years post articles experience
    • PWC, Deloitte, KPMG and Ernst and Young would be a signifiant advantage
