Financial Manager at Grindrod Logistics

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to:

Financial management

• Responsible for the overall financial process adhering to relevant instructions and guidelines.
• Management of month-end, interim and year-end financial reporting in line with company guidelines and time
• frames.
• Coordinate and prepare year end estimates and annual budgets in line with company guidelines and time frames.
• Maintain accurate and up to date asset registers.
• Keep accurate records of all transactions, using relevant documentation.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations monthly for review and sign of.
• Continuous improvement on all financial processes.
• Manage the financial risks.
• Prepare monthly financial reports.
• Constantly review management accounts, including income statements, etc.

Financial administration

• Management of all financial and administrative processes and systems.
• Maintain adequate internal financial controls.
• Prepare for and coordinate all internal and external audit.
• Assist in coordinating and maintaining all insurance related requirements and processes.
• Adhere to procurement processes and business support.
• Ensure cost control and contracting.
• Oversee and manage effective ageing of stock and work in progress (WIP).
• Coordinate regular stock counts.

Manage debtors

• Process debtors’ journals.
• Reconcile debtors control monthly.
• Complete monthly revenue recon.
• Ensure completeness of revenue.

Manage creditors

• Ensure creditors recons are completed and paid on time.
• Review creditor applications, including BBBEE status.
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex issues.
• Manage bank reconciliation a/c and cash flow
• Reconcile the bank account daily.
• Daily cash flow management.

Compliance

• Ensure compliance with internal policies, rules and procedures as well as legislation and best practice principles.
• IFRS, tax legislation, Companies Act, NCA, compliance.
• Advise internal “clients” on policy and procedure matters.
• Monitor and report on compliance.
• Remain current with legislation.
• Company is not exposed to non-compliance risk.

Projects

• Assist in SAP implementation and roll-out

REQUIREMENTS

Qualification/s:

• Matric/ Grade 12
• BCom Accounting degree or Similar
• CA highly recommended.

Experience

• 5 - 7 years with 3 years in finance management.
• Experience in SAP all modules (AR / AP / R2R / Cash Allocation) will be an advantage
