    Financial Manager

    Job Description
    High level job objectives

    • Lead and manage the financial, cost and management accounting team to meet the operational financial objectives of the PPECB.
    • Implement the organisation’s financial planning and accounting practices, 
    • Effect stakeholder engagement through building and maintain relationships with the treasury, financial institutions and the general financial community. 
    • Formulate and recommend financial procedures and programs that ensure the delivery of services that are professional, impartial, supportive and of quality to internal and external clients
    • Participates in the implementation and maintenance of an infrastructure, policies and procedures relating to finance, information technology and administration.
    • Create opportunities for enhancing financial performance.
    • Maintain an effective internal control system that ensures accurate financial reporting and compliance to laws as well as mitigates fraud and error risk in the PPECB.
    • Deliver timely accurate reports and annual audited financial statements to inform board and management in supporting decision-making and meeting statutory requirements.
    • Deliver sustainable financial modelling, forecasting and budgeting
    • Transfer knowledge to all employees on financial and internal control subjects to improve level of financial acumen.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Financial Accounting or similar
    • Qualified CA(SA), CIMA accreditation

    Experience

    • Experience working within a complex financial environment. 8 10 years
    • Financial modelling and variance analysis 5 5 years
    • People management and leadership 5 5 years
    • Successfully completed SAICA articles 2

    KnowledgeGRAP/IFRS

    • PFMA, National Treasury Regulations, Financial Legislation, BCEA, POPIA
    • Budgeting and forecasting
    • Monthly management reporting
    • Variance analysis
    • Financial modelling
    • Year-end financial reporting
    • Project Management

     Technical Skills/ Functional Skills

    • Financial acumen
    • Integration/co-ordination of activities/functions
    • Controlling and reporting of financial activities
    • Strong reconciliation skills
    • Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel and MS Office
    • Managing financial information and transactional systems 
    • Proficient in running a large ERP system (Oracle, SAGE, D365, SAP)
