Financial Specialist / Business Growth Coach- Umhlanga at Raizcorp

Job Description

• Turn Your Commercial Experience into Entrepreneurial Impact
• Are you a financially astute business professional who understands more than just the numbers?
• Perhaps you are a financial analyst, commercial manager, finance leader, business operator or entrepreneur with a strong understanding of how business finance, strategy, sales, and operations work together. You may have reached a point in your career where you are looking for something different: an opportunity to use your experience to guide business owners, develop entrepreneurs and create measurable impact.
• If you have run your own business, understand the realities of entrepreneurship and are ready to move from analysing or managing businesses to helping entrepreneurs build stronger ones, this could be the career change you have been looking for.
• Raizcorp is looking for a seasoned, well-rounded business professional to join us as a business coach.
• This is a full-time, salaried role in which you will coach a portfolio of entrepreneurs across every area of their businesses, including finance, strategy, sales, marketing, operations, people and personal development.
• You do not need any previous coaching experience. Raizcorp will train you in our internationally recognised coaching methodology. What you do need is substantial business experience, strong commercial judgement, empathy for entrepreneurs and a genuine desire to help others succeed.

What you’ll do

• Hold structured monthly one-on-one coaching sessions with entrepreneurs.
• Help business owners interpret their financial information and use it to make better commercial decisions.
• Guide entrepreneurs in strengthening their strategies, sales approaches, marketing activities, operational systems and people practices.
• Facilitate business simulations and group learning sessions using Raizcorp’s proven programmes and methodology.
• Manage a defined portfolio of entrepreneurs and track progress in areas such as revenue, profitability, business capability and founder development.
• Challenge entrepreneurs to think critically, evaluate trade-offs and take accountability for their decisions.
• Connect the different areas of a business so entrepreneurs can make integrated, forward-looking decisions.
• Remain informed about economic conditions, market shifts and regulations that may affect entrepreneurs and their businesses.
• Collaborate closely with other coaches and specialists to support each entrepreneur’s development journey.

This role may be a strong fit for you if you are:

• A financial analyst or finance professional who has developed a strong understanding of business operations and commercial decision-making.
• A commercial or operational leader who wants to use your experience in a more purpose-driven role.
• A current or former entrepreneur who understands both the rewards and pressures of building a business.
• An experienced business professional looking for a meaningful career change.
• Someone who enjoys developing people, asking insightful questions and helping others arrive at better decisions. Empathy in this role is super important.
• Motivated by the opportunity to influence real business results rather than simply report on them.

What you’ll need

• Between 10 and 15-plus years of experience across corporate, commercial and entrepreneurial environments.
• Experience owning or running your own business at some point in your career. This is a non-negotiable requirement.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret business performance beyond the income statement.
• Experiential depth in business finance, strategy and sales.
• A practical understanding of how marketing, operations, people and finance influence one another.
• The ability to identify patterns, challenge assumptions and help entrepreneurs evaluate business trade-offs.
• High emotional intelligence and genuine empathy for the realities of entrepreneurship.
• A mature, accountable and non-judgemental approach.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• An organised, systematic and proactive working style.
• Confidence using technology and business systems, including Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Office and learner management systems.
• A commerce-related tertiary qualification. An MBA or other master’s-level qualification will be an advantage.
• A valid driver’s licence and your own vehicle.

What you’ll gain

• The opportunity to turn years of commercial and entrepreneurial experience into meaningful impact.
• A career in which you work directly with entrepreneurs and their businesses every day.
• Formal training in an internationally recognised business-coaching methodology.
• Continuous professional development and exposure to businesses across different industries and stages of growth.
• The opportunity to influence revenue, profitability, founder capability and long-term business sustainability.
• A supportive, fiercely caring team culture that backs the jockey—the entrepreneur—not only the horse.
• A rare opportunity to build a new career without leaving the world of business behind.
