The ideal candidate must be in possession of an appropriate National Diploma (NQF 6) in Fire Technology as recognised by SAQA coupled with 2 years experience in Fire and Rescue services and a valid C1 Drivers Licence.
Essential Knowledge, Skills And Competencies Required: The successful candidate must have: Sound knowledge of Disaster Management Act; Fire Brigade Act; Knowledge of Fire and Rescue Services procedures; Public Service Act; Municipal Regulations and policies; Ability to analyze and interpret policies; Minute taking and report writing skills; Good organisational skills, office management and document tracking; Capacity building; Good communication skills (verbal and written) with municipalities, Traditional Institutions, Public, Private sector staff and management; Good computer literacy in MS Office (Ms Word, Ms Excel and PowerPoint).
DUTIES :
The successful candidate will be required to support municipalities and stakeholders with fire and rescue services with the following responsibilities: Monitor, evaluate and provide support with the development and implementation of plans, legislative frameworks and strategies for fire and rescue services within the Province; Implement and support municipalities with fire safety and services capacity building programmes; Support with establishment and maintenance of IGR structures in fire and rescue services; Support municipalities with coordination of response capabilities; Provide technical support for compliance with National and Provincial imperatives.
