Fire Sprinkler Estimator at Fidelity Services Group

Job Purpose 

• The Fire Sprinkler Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and tender submissions for fire sprinkler systems. The role includes reviewing drawings and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, obtaining supplier quotations, assessing risks, ensuring compliance with South African standards, and supporting profitable project delivery. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and bills of quantities. 
• Perform quantity take-offs for pipework, sprinkler heads, valves, pumps, tanks, hangers, fittings and ancillary equipment. 
• Prepare accurate material, labour, plant and subcontractor cost estimates. 
• Obtain supplier quotations and negotiate pricing. 
• Compile complete tender submissions. 
• Attend site inspections and clarification meetings. 
• Liaise with clients, consultants and suppliers. 
• Maintain estimating records and databases. 

Technical Knowledge 

• Interpret hydraulic calculations, architectural, structural and mechanical drawings. 
• Understand wet, dry, deluge, pre-action, foam-water and water mist systems. 
• Knowledge of fire pumps and water storage systems. 

Qualifications & Experience 

• Attended ASIB Course  
• Minimum 5 years' fire sprinkler estimating experience. 
• Knowledge of ASIB, NFPA, SANS 10287, SANS 10400-T, OHSA and local fire authority requirements. 

Software 

• AutoCAD 
• Microsoft software: Excel, word, PDF ect  
• Microsoft Projects.
