Fitter - Pretoria West at RCL Foods

• RCL Foods is seeking a Fitter  to join our Milling  Divisionbased in Pretoria West.  The role reports into the Engineering Manager. 

Minimum Requirements    

• N3 Mechanical Engineering plus qualified Fitter/Fitter & Turner
• 5 years post qualification experience
• Basic Electrical experience will be an advantage
• Knowledge in milling and packaging equipment (Buhler packers and equipment, Fawema, New Tech palletizers)  
• Knowledge of setting up ink printers, glueing application and metal detectors
• Precision maintenance and machine center line setups for change overs
• Ability to communicate on all levels
• Ability to work systematically.
• Ability to prioritize workload.
• Report writing and analysis – Understanding of RCA’s (5 x why’s, fishbone)
• Mentoring apprentices and coach operators
• Must be able to work shifts of required and be available on callouts and standby.

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs, to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of the machines do not deteriorate.
• Inspect drives, motors, belts, bearings, setup machine timings and perform other maintenance actions following detailed CMMS asset plans.
• Be able to comply with Food safety standards, and previous FMCG experience will be an advantage
• Be able to comply with OHS safety standards, permits and lockout procedures LOTOTO
• Repairs outside of packing (Buhler roll changes, product transfer equipment and other mechanical repairs)
• Assemble, install and / or repair, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment on compressed air and waterlines
• Diagnose and correct mechanical problems.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
• Direct and train workers to install, maintain, mechanical equipment.
• Record maintenance and repair work performed.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Finale applicants will be sent for a pre-approval assessment
