    Instrumentation Technician - Pretoria West

    Purpose of the role: 

    • The Instrument Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, fault finding, and optimisation of instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, and automation systems supporting milling and packaging operations. The role ensures reliable process control, accurate data acquisition, historian integrity, and compliance with safety, food safety, and engineering standards.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • National Diploma, Trade qualification, or equivalent in Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
    • Minimum 3–5 years experience in an FMCG, milling, or industrial processing environment.
    • Strong hands-on experience with Siemens S7 PLCs using TIA Portal.
    • Proven experience with Profibus communication networks.
    • Working knowledge of Wonderware InTouch SCADA systems.
    • SQL database programming experience is essential, particularly for historian data logging and reporting.
    • Experience with industrial weighing systems, preferably Bühler scales and flow readers, will be a strong advantage.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Install, maintain, calibrate, and fault-find field instrumentation including pressure, level, flow, temperature, and weighing systems.
    • Provide instrumentation, PLC, and automation breakdown support to milling and packaging plants.
    • Support Siemens S7 PLC systems using TIA Portal, including diagnostics, backups, and controlled program changes.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot industrial communication networks, including Profibus.
    • Support and maintain Wonderware InTouch SCADA systems, including alarms, trends, and graphics.
    • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL database queries and scripts for historian data logging (essential).
    • Ensure reliable historian data capture, data accuracy, and system availability.
    • Ensure critical instrumentation and automation spares are identified, available, and correctly managed.

    Electrical Foreman - Pretoria West

    Shift Millwright - Pretoria West

    Purpose of the job: 

    • The Shift Millwright is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of milling and packing plant equipment during shift operations.     Minimum Requirements

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Foreman: Extraction and Energy (Dayshift)

    • We are looking for a Foreman - Extraction and Energy (Dayshift) to be based in our Komati Mill in Mpumalanga. The role reports into the  Engineer Operations Energy and Extraction: Komati Mill.
    • The primary objective of this position is to oversee day -to -day production operations, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives with the aim of maximizing throughput, recoveries and minimize cost of production.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12 with Maths and Science.
    • NQF level 5 qualification in power station operations or equivalent will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 5 years working experience in a Supervisory level and 3 years’ experience on Foreman level in a sugar mill Extraction and Energy environment is essential.

    • SHERQX document manage - save updated documents (QFS & SQA) & certificates on SHERQX on the relevant folders and archive old ones and update the document master index as required.

    • Maintain the document storerooms (QFS & SQA), file and box old documents and arrange upliftment to the archive store.
    • Compile weekly QFS report with data received from SQA and QFS team.
    • Compile monthly Food Safety meeting slides and Annual Management review slides with data received from SQA and QFS team.
    • Assist with export/ customer requests by completing required documents and sending certificates. 
    • Maintain customer portals by uploading updated certificates (e.g. WW FPI). 
    • Collect toolbox and training registers from all QA personnel and submit to learning and development monthly.

    • Obtain and delegate the job cards from Maintenance Manager
    • Once job is complete, record summary of job onto job card, detailing work completed, spares and tools in/out register and time taken to complete the job
    • Submit completed job card, no later than end of shift

    Food Safety

    • Adhere to food safety guidelines as per company policies and procedures
    • Abide by all Good Manufacturing Practices requirements as set out by the employer
    • Ensure all work areas are cleaned and free from contaminants after maintenance work has been done
