    Fleet Controller, Bloemfontein

    Job Description

    • Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for logistics and operational efficiency?
    • Join our client's privately owned, fast-paced and growing transport company as a Fleet Controller, where you'll play a vital role in coordinating vehicle movements, supporting drivers, and ensuring that the fleet runs smoothly and on schedule. If you thrive under pressure, enjoy problem-solving, and have a knack for logistics, we want to hear from you!

    Minimum requirements:

    • Matric
    • Fluent in Afrikaans and English
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Experience as a Fleet Controller (ADVANTAGEOUS but not required)
    • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Docs, Google Sheets)
    • Basic understanding of transport regulations and route planning
    • Willing to work 12-hour shifts and long hours
    • Responds to constructive feedback with maturity and willingness to improve

    Required skills:

    • Coordinate and monitor the daily movement of trucks and drivers.
    • Ensure loads are dispatched and delivered according to schedule.
    • Track vehicles using fleet tracking systems and provide updates where necessary.
    • Manage driver communication regarding routes, delays, breakdowns, and operational matters.
    • Ensure compliance with road transport legislation and company policies.
    • Monitor fuel consumption, trip performance, and vehicle utilization.
    • Handle route planning and scheduling to optimize operational efficiency.
    • Liaise with clients, drivers, workshops, and management regarding transport operations.
    • Record and report incidents, accidents, delays, and operational issues.
    • Ensure all fleet documentation, licenses, permits, and logbooks are updated and compliant.
    • Coordinate maintenance schedules and breakdown assistance.
    • Assist with overtime planning and after-hours operational support when required.
