REQUIREMENTS: Degree in Transport and Logistics, or relevant Tertiary Qualification. Relevant supervisory experience of 5-8 years in Fleet Management. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with modern fleet telematics software. Valid driver’s license (Code EB / EC1 preferred) with a clean driving record
COMPETENCIES: Candidate must possess a clear understanding of service delivery requirements, technical knowledge of vehicle and heavy plant maintenance, and strong numerical skills for budget and fuel reconciliation. The ability to achieve the desired objectives and agreements through interactive discussion with either internal or external parties. Effectively exploring alternatives and positions to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all parties (Negotiation).
DUTIES: Candidate must manage and control the procedures, operations and critical outcomes associated with the Municipality’s Fleet (vehicles, plant and equipment) through the alignment and implementation of functional plans and objectives (Administration, Maintenance and Fleet Control), monitoring productivity and performance and addressing deviations and implementing standards and operating practices to manage the allocation, maintenance and optimum functionality of the Municipality’s Fleet. Maintain a complete inventory of all council-owned or controlled transport and plant equipment.
